There are several procedures during your pregnancy or after your birth that may be used to assess
or protect you and your baby's well being. Many of these procedures are routinely preformed on all
mothers and/or infants under the care of a physician or in hospital settings. While midwives may
offer some of these procedures, they feel it is important for you to become knowledgeable about the
available technologies and their benefits and risks so that you may make informed decisions. You
will receive information during your pregnancy about the following procedures as they pertain to
your weeks gestation and you and your baby's health.
